What Google says about PBS drugs

Internet searches by HCPs and patients on Australia's top PBS medicines - which add up to millions of queries each year - are turning up mostly foreign websites with many peddling unreliable and potentially dangerous information, prompting calls for urgent reform of Medicines Australia's Code.

Brand Medicine International conducted analysis of Australian internet searches on the five top PBS brands in 2022 and found unverified third-party publishers such as Reddit, Wikipedia and drugs.com, were providing most of the answers.
