First wholesaler agreement signed

The Federal Government has signed the First Pharmaceutical Wholesaler Agreement (1PWA) with the National Pharmaceutical Services Association (NPSA) worth $4.2 billion over five years. 

The agreement which kicks off on 1 January, will deliver a 34 per cent increase in funding for wholesalers and means the rising costs of distributing medicines across the country will not be passed on to consumers.
