Big names back bridging fund

A National Consensus Statement has been launched in support of a bridging funding to enable faster access to medicines in Australia, backed by a powerful coalition and a website - expanding lobbying efforts into the mainstream.

AstraZeneca proposed an Australian Interim Cancer Fund in March this year and a bridging fund was one of 50 recommendations included in the HTA Review - with a Who's Who of industry creating the new coalition, pushing for the fund to be rapidly designed and implemented as one of the first actionable recommendations. Already it has gained traction, with a story in The Australian newspaper.
