Vines retires from RCA
Kate Vines, the co-founder of powerhouse patient group Rare Cancers Australia, has announced she will retire after 10 years at the helm of the organisation.
The high profile patient and patient advocate was diagnosed with the rare medullary thyroid cancer in 1991 and told she had just three months to live.
Unable to find help or answers, she and husband Richard Vines, established Rare Cancers Australia in 2012, a charity devoted to rare cancers awareness and support.
