CSL hits speed bump in Vifor deal
CSL has hit a speed bump in its acquisition of Swiss company Vifor Pharma.
The local giant had previously indicated that it expected the deal to close by June this year, but yesterday it released a statement on the ASX saying it "now expects the regulatory approval process to take a few more months".
Announced last year, the deal has CSL buying Vifor $17.2 billion in cash, almost a third of which it raised through debt funding in the United States. It's the company's largest ever acquisition, and will boost its pipeline by a third.
