A study has revealed that medicinal cannabis prescriptions have surged since 2020 despite limited evidence of its efficacy for the conditions for which it is being used.
Since Australia's medicinal cannabis program started in 2016, it has been prescribed for over 140 conditions, and there are at least 375 different unregistered medicinal cannabis products that can be supplied via the schemes.
