First August PBS listing goes to...

A Menarini’s Orfadin, previously only available under the Life Saving Drugs Program (LSDP) is the first medicine confirmed for PBS listing next month.

The hereditary tyrosinaemia type 1 treatment, which contains the active nitisinone has been available through the LSDP for just over 10 years. Orfadin was named as one of 17 potential August PBS contenders in a recent Pharma in Focus analysis.
