Second generic targets $53M drug

Last week the TGA approved a raft of generics targeting PBS listed drugs, sponsored by six companies.

Among the list is Sandoz’s Tofacitinib Sandoz, marking the second copycat of Pfizer’s JAK inhibitor Xeljanz to be registered in Australia, following Accelagen’s generic brands (Tofadoz, Tofacitinib Lupin, and MSN Tofacitinib) which were approved last month.

In the year to April, Xeljanz earned Pfizer $53 million in pre-rebate PBS benefits.
