Aussie-first manufacturing facility opens

Telix has opened a first-of-its-kind Australian facility intended to significantly reduce the timeframe from early-stage trials to broad patient access for radiopharmaceuticals while boosting the nations sovereign manufacturing capacity.

The new multi-million dollar facility, Telix Manufacturing Solutions North Melbourne (TMSNM), is a collaboration with Melbourne Theranostic Innovation Centre (MTIC) where it is located, and combines radiopharmaceutical research, manufacturing, and treatment. It was officially opened today, with former Health Minister Greg Hunt on the guest list.

"Radiopharmaceuticals are fast becoming an important part of cancer care, but manufacturing capacity for novel treatments, which needs to be near patients, remains a constraint in Australia," Telix CEO, Dr Christian Behrenbruch, said.
