Aussie market next for pain drug

A non-opioid pain patch is headed Down Under after Clinect secured Australian rights to Grünenthal’s Qutenza.

Qutenza contains a high concentration (eight per cent) of capsaicin, the same active used in Actor Pharmaceuticals’ Zostrix cream and AFT Pharmaceuticals creams Zo-Rub HP and Zo-Rub Osteo.

In Europe, Qutenza is indicated for the treatment of peripherical neuropathic pain in adults, either alone or in combination with other medical products. Whereas in the US, Qutenza is indicated for neuropathic pain associated with postherpetic neuralgia associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy of feet in adults.
