Big names eye Feb PBS listing

Four new drugs could make their first appearance on the PBS in February along with the first rivals for Bayer’s Eylea and Biogen’s Tysabri.

These drugs have all reached the last stage before listing occurs known as ‘government processes’.

Among the list is Vertex’s latest cystic fibrosis (CF) product Alyftrek, forecast to be a mega-blockbuster. The company secured the PBAC’s recommendation in September 2025 for CF in patients aged 6 years and older who have at least one mutation in the CFTR gene that is responsive to Alyftrek potentiation based on clinical and/or in vitro assay data.
