Govt plans more spending on PBS

A further $1.8465 billion is expected to be added to reimbursements made through the R/PBS over the next four fiscal years due to recent government listings to the Scheme.

The costings are revealed in the Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYFEO) 2025–26 released this week. The vast majority of the extra spending will be through the PBS, with a fraction going through the RPBS and just over a million going through Services Australia.

In comparison, total reimbursements for the R/PBS for the financial year ending June 2025 were $20.7695 billion according to Services Australia.
