PBS listing gift kicks off December

Just in time for Christmas, UCB has snapped up the first PBS listing for December with its star performer Bimzelx expanded to Australians living with the painful and often debilitating skin condition, hidradenitis suppurativa (HS).

HS is a chronic, incurable inflammatory condition that causes painful nodules, abscesses, and scarring, often in sensitive areas like the armpits, groin, and buttocks. It is frequently misdiagnosed as acne, folliculitis, skin infections, or sexually transmitted infections.

The intimate and distressing symptoms of HS can also stop patients from seeking timely medical help, with patients often waiting up to 10 years for an accurate diagnosis. HS affects people of all sexes, ages, races, and ethnicities, but is twice as prevalent in Australian females than it is in males.
