Nasal spray copycat approved

Medsurge has become the first company to register a generic of Ferring Pharmaceuticals’ nasal spray Minrin in the 10 microgram strength.

According to the TGA’s (database), Minirin 10 microgram/actuation nasal spray has been unavailable in Australia since 20 July 2020 due to a product recall, however, this is expected to be resolved next month.

While an unregistered product has been approved for supply under Section 19A, Medsurge’s brands – Desmomed, Desmopressin Medicianz, and Desmopressin Medsurge - mark the first generic versions of Minrin in the 10 microgram strength to be registered on the ARTG.
