40-year-old pharma rebrands

Orion Laboratories has returned to Australian ownership after over a decade in the hands of Ireland headquartered Perrigo, launching under the name Evaris Pharma with former Pharmac CEO, Steffan Crausaz, at the helm.

Founded in 1985 as a privately owned company particularly focused on hospital products, Orion Laboratories became Perrigo Australia in 2010 after being acquired by Perrigo for $49 million.

It's understood that Perrigo has since sold the Australian business to Genesis Capital, a healthcare focused private equity firm. The company's new name Evaris’ reflects its mission – combining ‘Eva’ (meaning of life) and ‘Aris’ (meaning best), symbolising the company’s dedication to excellence, patient-centric care and industry leadership.
