Big changes coming to pharma

In the next decade pharma will significantly change the way it does business with the ranks of middle managers thinning, the introduction of more fluid cross-functional teams, greater use of contractors and the emergence of leaders who will "influence without authority", according to former Medical Director and best selling business author, Paula Fenwick.

In her new book More LOVE at Work, Fenwick identifies five key trends that will change organisational structures and leadership including: AI and tech; globalisation, diversity and inclusion; change anticipation and resilience; emotional intelligence and authenticity, and purpose and values. 

"Leaders in the past have relied on a 'command and control' style to force people to 'do their job' and trust hasn't been very popular," she said.
