What's making pharma feel perky?

Pharma industry professionals are experiencing a surge in confidence about the sector's growth prospects over the next 12 months, with 73 per cent feeling 'optimistic' or 'very optimistic' - an increase of 13 per cent on sentiment just six months ago.

According to GlobalData's, State of the Biopharmaceutical Industry 2024 Mid-Year Update, only seven per cent of those surveyed felt 'pessimistic' or 'very pessimistic' while further 20 per cent felt neutral - neither optimistic nor pessimistic. Although the upward trend is considered a positive sign, GlobalData said it remains considerably lower than 2022 when 81 per cent of respondents felt confident about growth.
