Kyowa raises PBAC 'concerns'
New Australian pharma entrant Kyowa Kirin says it has "some initial concerns" about the potential use of the PBAC submission and evaluation processes "for primarily pricing and commercial negotiation purposes".
In its submission to the Zimmerman parliamentary inquiry into access for new medicines, the Japanese-based pharma says it is looking to bring two novel medicines to Australia, working with the TGA and PBAC to achieve this.
Crysvita is being developed for X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH), a rare disease which causes severe disability and predominantly strikes young children, and Poteligeo for two sub-types of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma.
