The Pharmacy Guild of Australia is continuing its push for pharmacist prescribing with a new report by HTAnalysts outlining at least $1 billion in annual health system savings.
The report, Rewriting the Script, included four cases studies of introducing pharmacist prescribing for asthma, COPD, hormonal contraception, and cardiovascular risk reduction, which combined would save the health system $1 billion, free up over 10 million GP appointments, and prevent 30,000 hospitalisations each year.
