Vax could deliver double payoff

Receiving the shingles vaccination could lower the risk of heart attack and stroke, according to a meta-analysis conducted by GSK.

The study showed both the recombinant herpes zoster vaccine (RZV) and the live attenuated zoster vaccine (ZVL) were associated with a reduction in risk of cardiovascular events in adults aged 18-50 years or older, 18 per cent in the case of RZV and 16 per cent in the case of ZVL.
