PBS win ensures affordable supply

Aussie pharma Echo Therapeutics has won a PBS listing for a replacement medicine for Pegasys, ensuring there is continued affordable access to the treatment for Australians living with rare blood cancers.

The good news follows one of the most challenging global shortages of Pegasys supply. The new global owner of the medicine, Pharma&, resumed manufacturing from its Austrian site in 2025, prioritising Europe, where many countries had already run out by early 2025.
