Is Delta more deadly?

As Australia begins to ease restrictions based on increasing vaccination rates, concerns grow over whether the vaccines will be effective against new variants - with a new study finding Delta increased ICU admissions by 234 per cent and death by 132 per cent.

According to experts, Delta is both more contagious and causes more severe disease than the Alpha variant, however the recent Doherty modelling only accounted for the increased transmission of the variant.
