Warning over migraine drug

The TGA has updated the product information for Novartis' migraine drug Aimovig to include a warning about a potential causal relationship between the drug and hypertension.

The special warnings and precautions section now states that development of hypertension and worsening of pre-existing hypertension have been reported following the use of Aimovig, with cases requiring pharmacological treatment and sometimes hospitalisation.
