Parties thrash it out on Trikafta

Vertex has committed to working with PBAC and the Department of Health to find "flexible and creative solutions" for government-funded access to its cystic fibrosis drug Trikafta for all eligible patients.

A stakeholder meeting was held this week and described as a "frank and honest exchange of ideas" but it's clear the pressure is still on from advocacy group Cystic Fibrosis Australia (CFA) to end delays in gaining a positive PBAC recommendation and allowing subsidised access to the so-called miracle drug.
