Gloves off in mRNA turf war

Victoria has upped the ante in its ambition to be the epicentre of Australia's mRNA vaccine manufacturing - appointing nine international and local experts to an advisory group for its newly-established mRNA Victoria initiative

The latest step in a fast-moving turf war between the states to score the lion's share of mRNA manufacturing, the new mRNA Scientific Advisory Group includes US-based Dr Barney Graham, "whose ground-breaking research into the spike protein was a key part of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine breakthrough", according to a release from Victoria's Minister for Innovation, Medical Research and the Digital Economy, Jaala Pulford.
