New FTA a meds opportunity

Despite the back-slapping following the historic free trade agreement (FTA) struck between Australia and the UK, questions remain about how it might impact the pharma industry - with Medicines Australia hopeful it will lead to a faster, more efficient regulatory process and better access for Australian patients to innovative medicines.

While the politicians hammed it up - with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson telling his Aussie counterpart Scott Morrison they could swap biscuits and boots - details of the in-principle agreement are yet to be fleshed out.
