Anticoag market may expand

Anticoagulants such as BMS' Eliquis and Bayer's Xarelto indicated for atrial fibrillation to prevent stroke could see a bump in local sales as the world's largest screening project for the condition nears launch in Australia.

Heart Research Institute's Professor Ben Freedman, Dr Nicole Lowres and Dr Katrina Giskes received a Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) grant worth $1.7 million for their research project SAFER-AUS last month that is poised to transform Australia's stroke-related healthcare.
