Warehouse move ticks green goals

Boehringer Ingelheim has taken another step towards its sustainability goal of being carbon-neutral by 2030 as it moves to a larger warehouse run by DHL for its Australian operations.

The pharma has relocated its Sydney warehouse to DHL's Horsley Park Campus, which has sustainable measures incorporated into the site. That includes rooftop solar, the use of 100 per cent renewable electricity, LED lighting with an efficient lighting control system, smart energy metering, cool roofing, rainwater reuse, and energy efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

The move increases floor space, and also puts Boehringer closer to DHL's Transport Hub, which reduces fuel usage and wait times when distributing products.
